المياه البيضاء:

هي عتامة أو ضبابية في الرؤية عادة تصيب كبار السن وتؤدي إلى ضعف الإبصار.

وقد تصيب المياه البيضاء أيضا الأطفال والشباب ولكن بنسبة اقل بكثير من كبار السن.

اثبتت الدراسات الحديثة في كل انحاء العالم انه يفضل إزالة المياه البيضاء بالتقنيات الحديثة في بدايتها وعدم الإنتظار إلى مرحلة متأخرة قد يحدث معها مضاعفات خطيرة.

عادة ما يتم إجراء عملية إزالة المياه البيضاء تحت مخدر موضعي ويخرج المريض في نفس اليوم إلى بيته ليتمتع برؤية واضحة من اليوم التالي للعملية
